PAST STUDENT COMMENTS
I had the time of my life in Thailand, from gathering food in the jungle to hiking up waterfalls. Thailand is the most beautiful country where the rolling green mountains take your breath away. I have grown to love this place and cannot imagine that this is my last time visiting. I think that the people here are incredibly welcoming and always have a smile on their faces. The experiences at the village and the NGO were amazing and have given me so many stories to share with those I love. The hiking, walking, cooking, site seeing and so on was so enjoyable that I do not want to leave. I think this program is great and I hope it continues because it will give so many students the chance to see the world through a different set of lenses. I never expected this trip to make me feel as complete as a human being, it really was an eye opener, and made me realize how small the world actually is. - Tiffany
My experience in Thailand gave me personal insight into myself, how I can cope with something that is very different from what I know. - Tong
The study abroad program in Thailand was fantastic. Getting out of my comfort zone was exhilarating and allowed me to grow in ways I was not expecting. I had the chance to stay in a Hmong Village, a Lua Village, along with traveling in and around Chiang Mai and the South of Thailand. I learned a lot about the Hmong Culture that I believe will aide me in my career as a Secondary Education English teacher. Day trips to the Elephant camp, Orchid Farm, Healing Family Foundation, the U.S. Consulate, the International Organization for Women’s Justice and Peace, and even Bungee jumping have enriched my life experience.- Tess
The Chiang Mai program introduced me to many new concepts that broadened my understanding of the Asian culture. The professors were very enthusiastic and the class trips allowed us to explore many different areas of Thailand. It is definitely a place that I hope to return to in the future. - Beth
My experience in Thailand made an invaluable difference in my education. I had to learn to adapt to an environment where I don’t know the culture.... I’m really glad that I’ve decided to take this opportunity because it was definitely worth it! - Mai Lee
