You will have an orientation during the first few days in Monterrey. You are required to attend this orientation, and the placement exams will be given during this period as well.
GETTING INVOLVED
You can get involved on campus in many ways, such as by joining a conversation club, taking salsa lessons, or playing intramural sports. Past students have also suggested getting involved in a local church congregation or finding a volunteer opportunity. Let the International Office know right away if you are interested in volunteering.
EXPLORE MEXICO
There are a number of low-cost field trips available to students through the program for a small additional charge (ranging from $4-$20USD). A weekend trip to a destination a bit further away will also be offered during the summer term for an additional cost.
STUDENT COMMENTS
This was truly one of the best learning experiences I have ever had. I learned more about the culture and language in 6 weeks than I had in the last 10 years of studying it in school. I enjoyed everything Mexico had to offer. -Jennifer
The people here are so welcoming. There was always the opportunity to talk with someone and make new friends. My Spanish improved 10-fold, and now I'm so much more comfortable speaking and even thinking in Spanish. This was an amazing program that I would recommend to anyone. -Maggie
I am glad and fortunate that I decided to study abroad. Beside the grand amount of course work, it was a nice experience. Each city has it´s own beautiful characteristics that are amazing to experience. The Tec de Monterrey is well-organized and a great place to learn. -Claire
Simply amazing! The culture, the language, the people you meet, everything is just amazing! We are all talking about coming back this winter already to visit the friends we have made here! -Matt
This is an experience that everyone needs to have. You grow so much on these programs, you learn more about yourself and the things you are capable of doing, and you become more confident in your self. This is a program where you really can’t find words to explain the value of the experience you will get. -Misty
I would not give up my time here for anything. I learned a lot about Mexican history and culture, improved my Spanish, and met people that I will miss so much when I return home. I had a blast seeing the sights, living the nightlife, and cramming in all the homework in only 6 weeks. I only wish I could stay here longer! -Greta
