The International Student Services section of the CIE is made up of two full-time staff to support the community of 150 international students. This low ratio of adviser to student allows the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to offer in-depth support services to international students.   Jodi Simek, the International Student Adviser, is available to help you with any problems you may have, as well as to make your transition into the Eau Claire university community as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Listed to the left are the components to the Advising Services provided by International Student Services.

Hiring International Students:

As a function of US Immigration law, international students are only allowed to take on-campus, non-federal employment. While school is in session, an international student may work a maximum of 20 hours per week. During official school break periods, an international student may work full time. International students are not allowed to take any kind of off-campus employment unless special permission is secured through the Center for International Education and the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service). If you should have any questions about hiring an international student, please contact Jodi Simek at inted@uwec.edu
