Programs and Activities

The Center for International Education organizes a diverse array of programs to ensure international students' integration into the community. Our Host Friend Program allows students to connect with a local family. The program begins with a
3-day home-stay at the beginning of your period of study, after which you stay in touch with your host on a regular basis. Another program, the Buddy Project, matches international students and domestic students for friendship and the exchange of cultural perspectives. The International Ambassador program allows students connect with former UW-Eau Claire students from their own home country who can share perspective and answer questions about UWEC courses, climate, and community.

As you become a part of the UW-Eau Claire community, you will want to stay informed about all the latest international student news. The International Connection is a student-written newsletter that is published twice a semester. It offers interviews, campus news, and details about upcoming events. International Folk Fair, held each fall, is a celebration of diversity with ethnic food, international displays and performances.

The Center for International Education is here to make your experience at
UW-Eau Claire the best one possible. Our many programs are designed to integrate you into the campus and community, promote friendship and intercultural exchange, and allow you to experience all that the university, the area, and the upper Midwest of the United States has to offer. Become a part of UW-Eau Claire; become involved in our exciting programs!
