Folk Fair is the largest international festival of its kind in the area, and brings the community together in celebration of culture! It takes place every fall on the UW-Eau Claire campus and offers all who attend an enriching cultural and educational experience that will not be forgotten. Upon entering Folk Fair, a “passport” is given to each visitor. The passport is stamped after a person visits each exhibit and learns something about the culture or country represented therein. School groups are encouraged to attend!
More than 40 countries/cultures are represented at Folk Fair each year by students, community organizations, university departments and clubs. Past examples include:
African Student Association, AIESEC, Albania, Algeria, Amnesty International, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Baltic Student Association, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chinese Culture Association, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, German Club, Hmong Student Association, India, Irish Ceili Dance Company/Ireland, Japanese Cultural Society, Jewish Student Association, Korean Student Association, Latin American Studies Club, Latin American Sustainability/Education & Development, Le Salon Francais, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Midwest Institute of Scandinavian Culture, Model United Nations, Moldova, Mongolia, Native American Student Association, Nepal, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Russia, Scandainavia, Serbia, Sigma Delta Pi, Spanish Business Association, Spain, Student Organization of Latinas/os, Sri Lanka, Sweden, UNICEF, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, West African Music Society, Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners, World Cultural Center and more!!
