Are you interested in learning more about American culture and connecting with the Eau Claire community? If yes, then joining the Host Friend Program is for you! You will be matched with a member of the Eau Claire community to spend 2-3 days in their home and you will connect with hosts for activities once a month.
This program is a wonderful opportunity for international students to connect with Eau Claire, practice English, make friends, and share culture! For more information about the program, read through our list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Expectations of the Program:
Your hosts will pick you up in Eau Claire when you land at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport or arrive at the Eau Claire West Terminal through the Chippewa Valley Airport Service shuttle. You will then stay with your host for 2-3 days before moving into your residence hall on campus. After the homestay period, you and your host should contact each other for activities at least once a month. Please read through the list of Host Friend and Student Expectations handout for more information.
How Do I Apply?
To be matched with a host friend, you must first submit an online student profile before the deadline. Only new students with applications submitted on time are matched with hosts, so apply now! Students that have already arrived at UW-Eau Claire will not have the opportunity to apply or join the Host Friend program!
Application Deadlines:
Fall semester: June 30th
Spring semester: November 30th
