Thanks to the hospitality of the Schlneichers, those who attended the party, which include CFSA members and friends and Chinese students, enjoyed the event tremendously. Joint
celebration of the Chinese New Year, the
year of the Dog, with the Eau Claire Families with Chinese
Children (FCC) and the UWEC Chinese Student Association (CSA)
at First Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. It was a grand event!
Approximately 170 people joined in the celebration and the

Professor Bao Li-Ying at UWEC. Title of talk was "Can
the simplicity of Chinese Folk Painting have a place in contemporary

Ceremony of the Chinese Language & Culture School
at St John's Lutheran Church. Students demonstrated writing
& speaking skills in Chinese, and also performed Chinese
dances to delight the audience. |

the form of a pot-luck dinner. A short meeting to elect new
CFSA officers and to approve the

Ruth Lo in the form of a pot-luck dinner to celebrate the
Chinese New Year. Discussion about the formation
of an association was initiated. |

Moon Fest |
A
formal meeting was held at the home of Ruidong & Jun Zhang,
following the Moon Festival celebration.
Officers were elected and the name CFSA was formally adopted
as the working name of the association. |
