Curriculum Development Program

Application materials are currently not available

A.  Purpose and Overview
In the Curriculum Development Grant Program, CETL will support educator/student collaborative projects for development of new curriculum (courses or other educational experiences) during the summer.
Objectives of the proposed program are:

  • Provide resources and support for the development, implementation and assessment of effective and efficient new curriculum.
  • Encourage educators from across campus to work together with students to create educational opportunities that are challenging and relevant.
  • Create coherent educational opportunities that align with university-wide efforts (connected/intentional learning, GE, EDI, FYE) and that are assessed to enable future improvement.

CD grants include a stipend for the educator $2,200, stipends for two student collaborators of $2000 each, and up to $1250 for materials and travel support.  The curriculum development will occur during the summer and the curriculum will be implemented and assessed during the following academic year.  Projects that involve two educators and four students working together are acceptable.  Projects should lead to presentations and/or publication of results where possible.

B.  Proposal Writing Guide

This form includes faculty and student data, a project abstract, and signatures of the department chair and college dean (or equivalents). The abstract should summarize the project and student participation.

Please include an explanation for all costs indicated in the budget; funds will not be awarded for items not clearly tied to the project. Student Job Classifications are determined by the Office of Financial Aid (Frequently Requested Information). Undergraduate students are typically eligible for ‘entry level’ and ‘advanced skill level’ wage rates. Student wage rates that do not conform to this must be justified.
