Awards

There are two teaching excellence awards available from the UW System Board of Regents that honor both individuals and departments/programs.

Regents' Teaching Individual Excellence Award Nominee

Please nominate yourself or a colleague for this honor.

Academic Affairs invites you to submit nominations for the 2018 Regents' Teaching Individual Excellence Award nominee from UW-Eau Claire. The selected individual will be the campus nomination for the Board of Regents' award in 2018 and will be recognized during the opening breakfast in 2018. The nominee will also receive a $1500 award from the Foundation.

Criteria:

Nominees should excel at teaching and deeply value learning. This commitment to excellence might be demonstrated through activities that advance the quality and practice of teaching, learning, and advising in the individual classroom, in the department, across the curriculum or discipline, or college- and institution-wide. The Regents' Teaching Excellence Award recognizes long-term career development and achievements in teaching. Nominees should ideally have been teaching a significant period of time (perhaps 10 years) in the UW System.

Nomination Materials:

We realize this nomination process has a short-time frame. We are asking for 3 of the supporting materials for the award for our campus selection.

1. A nomination letter of support from a colleague

2. A condensed (five pages maximum) curriculum vitae of the nominee

3. A one- or two- page reflective statement by the nominee on his or her teaching and learning philosophy, practices and objectives, and how these have evolved over time. The statement should include how the assessment of student learning informs teaching practice.

If you or your nominee is selected to represent UW-Eau Claire, we will follow up with the nominee for the additional materials to submit to UW System Administration.

Please submit your nominations to cetl@uwec.edu by September 29, 2017 to be reviewed by a faculty committee representing each College. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Angie Stombaugh at stombaam@uwec.edu.
