The Commanding English Program (CEP) is a collaborative program to help resident bicultural students develop academic, language, and social skills to the level required for academic success at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Students are admitted into the year-long (2 semesters) CEP program as a part of the current admissions process.

- Are bicultural and citizens/residents of the United States
- Have ACT English or Reading sub scores of 16 or lower
- Have UWEPT composite scores or UWEPT reading scores of 450 or lower
What are the goals of the Commanding English program?
- To help students adjust to the challenging academic life at UW-Eau Claire
- To teach study strategies and habits for success at UW-Eau Claire
- To provide extensive, individual practice to develop the skills and strategies necessary for proficient reading and writing
- To provide support services, including advising and tutorial services
- To help students achieve academic success at UW-Eau Claire
