Film will be used as a catalyst to discuss issues that affect children and adolescents with mental health needs and their families. Films and film clips will be shown that encourage dialogue and discussion on how the issues raised relate to children’s mental health in the Chippewa Valley.
Am I Broken? This is a feature-length documentary currently in production on location at the Children’s Institute for Learning Differences (CHILD). Cameras follow three teachers for one full school year as they work to solve the intricate mystery of destructive behavioral patterns.
Cry for Help Two years after the country was rattled by the Virginia Tech shooting that left 33 dead, the producers take a critical look at the issues surrounding teen depression and suicide in Cry for Help.
Who Cares About Kelsey? This film will feature the voices of students, family members, peers and educators, and will examine key questions such as: What types of supports and interventions, including PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), enable children with emotional/behavioral challenges to succeed? What role does school-wide culture play? How are behavioral problems linked to communication and learning disabilities?
