What is the Youth Transition Conference?

The Youth Transition Conference is designed for teens and young adults with disabilities and their families. Educators and other professionals are also encouraged to attend. Workshop sessions address options, issues and concerns young people face as they transition into adulthood. Topics include employment, postsecondary education, life skills, community resources, money management, assistive technology and more. Exhibitors from area nonprofits, state agencies and service providers are available to share information and answer questions.

Youth Transition Conference Goals

  • Address decisions and concerns young people with disabilities face as they transition from high school to life on their own.
  • Help build a plan for future education, employment, independent living and community life.
  • Build awareness of available community resources and opportunities.
  • Present options to meet physical, mental and emotional needs.

Cost

$5 – Youth, young adults, parents, family members, guardians, caregivers, chaperones
$35 – Service providers, educators and other professionals not attending as chaperones.

Fee includes keynote speaker, breakout sessions, handouts, continental breakfast, lunch and snacks.
