English as a Second Language Program
ELA/ESL Program

UW-Eau Claire’s English Language Academy offers affordable, non credit English as a Second Language instruction to professionals as well as students eighteen years of age and older whose first language is not English.

Students enrolled can expect:

• An intensive, academic English program
• Improvement in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills;
• High quality instruction and innovative teaching methods;
• Academic and conversational English in a content based curriculum;
• A friendly and safe community atmosphere

There is no TOEFL requirement for this program. Two years of English language preparation and a high school diploma or its equivalent are required.
