This is a hands-on class for individuals who are interested in learning more about the craft of digital photography, but already have some basic familiarity with their DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras. An understanding of Windows and a willingness to explore non-automatic modes also will be helpful.
While keeping the artistry and elements of good composition in mind, you’ll explore key lighting principles such as hard vs. soft light, light direction, the color of light, studio light, natural light and special lighting effects. Strategies for taking excellent posed photos including: males, females, and groups will be emphasized.
Also, special attention will be given to best practices for digital file management/storage, Photoshop retouching, image correction and preparing your digital images for printing. Participants will be encouraged to share some of their images for class feedback and comment. Here is your opportunity to become more knowledgeable with your digital camera and discover how to take the best possible photos in an enjoyable learning environment.
Mondays, March 15, 22, April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3 (No class on March 29)
