Science Outreach

At the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, science is more than just courses and labs for college students. Many of our faculty offer special science programs to introduce children of all ages to the marvels of science.

Through our new Science Education Outreach Website, we are pleased to offer a "one-stop" shop to provide in one location information about the various types of science programs and experiences available at UW-Eau Claire for school children, grades K-12. You will also find contact information, group size and age specifications and details on admission charges, if there are any.

We have experiments that smoke, fizzle, mix, blow-up, and everything else that is different, unique and fun. We have programs that can be brought to your classroom or group location and we have programs where you bring your students to campus for hands on experiences right in the lab, greenhouse or planetarium.

All of the science education programs are geared to appropriate ages, which means we can adapt most of our activities for most age groups and still receive the same amount of oooooh's and aaaaaah's. These programs are suitable for presentations during or after school, in the evening, for youth organizations, home school classes, family science night programs, teacher workshops, teen science nights, scout programs, corporate programs and more (just ask!).

This website will help you find the science program that is right for your group. Just browse through the options using the menu on the left. When you find a program you're interested in or wish to get more information on, use the contact info given to contact the professor who runs the program.

Science is all about inventing, engineering, exploring, flying, wondering, dreaming. Be sure to check out this year's featured programs. You and your students will gain access to a whole new world of wonder.
