Joseph Picconatto was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota where he developed a passion for playing pond hockey, walleye fishing and walking in the woods. He earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he majored in English Literature and minored in Library Science. After leaving UWS, he obtained an M.A. in Literature from Iowa State University, where he studied the impact of alcoholism on American authors and the works of Russian critic Mikhail Bakhtin.
Joseph has been a store manager with Barnes and Noble College Bookstores since 1996 and has maintained a rather nomadic lifestyle.
He is very happy that life has brought him back to the Midwest and is proud to call Eau Claire home.
When Joseph is not at the bookstore he can most often be found reading comic books in local coffee shops or stalking the wastelands in the MMORPG The World of Warcraft.
