Student Information

Welcome, UWEC students! Here you will find links to articles, prezis, resources, and other required and supplemental materials for the Blugold Seminar in Critical Reading and Writing.

The Blugold Seminar is not just another "English class." Rather, it is a course designed to provide you with the essential skills needed to succeed in many of the classes you will take as an undergraduate at Eau Claire; specifically, this course teaches you how to join conversations in the academic world. Throughout the semester, you will hone your critical reading and writing skills so that you can feel confident expressing your unique voice in the classroom. Twenty course sections of English 110 with unique themes are being offered in the Spring 2013 semester. The course is divided into four main segments, regardless of the section you enroll in:

SEGMENT 1: READING THE CONVERSATIONS

SEGMENT 2: UNDERSTANDING PERSPECTIVE

SEGMENT 3: CULTIVATING COMPLEXITY

SEGMENT 4: JOINING THE CONVERSATION

Use the links in the sidebar to access required and supplemental course material for each segment, as well as general resources for the course.
