WRIT 116.801 | Poverty

WRIT 116.801 | Poverty

Elizabeth Preston | Spring 2014 | Online

Focusing on the umbrella topic of "poverty," this section of WRIT 116 explores the rhetorical arguments associated with issues related to poverty at local, national, and global levels: race, gender, welfare, unemployment, child hunger, crime, the decline of the US middle class, exploitative labor practices in the US and other countries, and so on. The artifacts included in this class—journal articles, cartoons, music, blogs, YouTube videos, and chapters from books—will enhance our understanding of rhetoric and writing as we develop our own ethical positions in relation to the issues connected to poverty.

Excellence. Our Measure. Our Motto. Our Goal.
