Course Description
In this course we will investigate what it's like to live in a multilingual world. We will explore the many languages and language varieties that we read, hear and speak in our daily lives, and we will discover that everyone is an expert use of one or more language varieties. We will also explore the question of how people choose which language variety to use in which situation (there's a lot more to it than just following those confusing "rules" you encountered in school).
