Blugold Beginnings offers a variety of summer camps each summer to promote college knowledge, campus comfort, and the overall goal of obtaining a higher education!  Each camp strives to meet the following objectives:

  • Increase campers knowledge of post-secondary opportunities.
  • Increase campers comfort on a college campus.
  • Increase campers interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) career fields.
  • Increase campers awareness of the steps they would need to complete to get a certain career.


2017 Camps

June 12-16: Robotics day camp
Grades 6-12

Students will receive academic instruction in robotics and engineering related areas, team building activities, take engineering related field trips, and participate in other educational activities around campus and in the community.

June 18-23: Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) overnight camp
Grades 6-12
Students will receive academic instruction in STEM related areas, team building activities, take STEM related field trips, and participate in other fun activities around campus and in the community.

July 9-14: Dreaming Big, Planning Big-Entrepreneurship overnight camp
Grades 6-12
Student will learn whit it takes to own a business by receiving academic instruction in the field of business. They will learn the skills of goal making, innovation, and entrepreneurship through field trips, interactive games and activities, and meeting with local business owners.

July 16-21: Exploring Art, Language and Culture overnight camp
Grades 6-12

Students will receive academic instruction in liberal arts (theatre, photography, creative writing, jounalism, arts, languages) related areas, team building activities, and participate in other fun activities around the campus and in the community.

July 24-28: Coding day camp
Grades 6-12

Students will receive an introduction to computer science by learning the skills they need to build a real-world website that will be live on the web even after the course is done.

July 30-Aug. 4: Biomedical and Kinesiology overnight camp
Grades 6-12

Students will have the opportunity to explore biology, anatomy and physiology, and kinesiology. Students will visit with professionals in bio-medical and kinesiology fields to learn more about careers. Students will also have the opportunity to complete experiments and study health and wellness concepts.
