Blugold Beginnings offers a variety of summer camps each summer to promote college knowledge, campus comfort, and the overall goal of obtaining a higher education! Each camp strives to meet the following objectives:
- Increase campers knowledge of post-secondary opportunities
- Increase campers comfort on a college campus
- Increase campers interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) career fields
- Increase campers awareness of the steps they would need to complete to get a certain career
Summer 2014 Camp Offerings:
Blugold Beginnings Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) Camp:
For students entering 6th-9th grade. Students will receive academic instruction in STEM related areas, team building activities, take STEM related field trips,and participate in other fun activities around campus and in thecommunity.
Session 1:Overnight in UWEC Dorms: June 15th-19th, $250 per student, Free to ECASD students
Session 2:Day Camp (8:00 AM- 5:00 PM) June 23rd-26th, $150 per student, Free to ECASD students
Blugold Beginnings Exploring the ArtsCamp:
For students entering 6th-9th grade. Students will receive academic instruction in liberal arts (theatre, photography, creative writing, arts, language) related areas, team building activities, and participate in other fun activities around campus and in the community.
Session 1:Overnight in UWEC Dorms: July 6th-10th, $250 per student, Free to ECASD students
Blugold Beginnings Leadership and Service Week:
For students entering 9th-12th grade. Students will take part in service projects in the community to meet service requirements for graduation, help boost resumes, and enhance college application materials.This camp will also involve many leadership activities to provide students with the skills to be able to succeed throughout high school and prepare for college.
Session 1: (8:00AM-5:00 PM) July 21st-24th, $100 per student, Free to ECASD students
Blugold Beginnings Splashing intoSixth Grade:
For students entering 6th grade. Students will learn skills to help ease the transition into 6thgrade. Students will have the opportunity to tour local middle schools, receive academic instruction, participate in team building activities, and attend a community event. This week's theme includes fun water activities incorporated into learning.
Session 1:(8:00 AM-5:00 PM) July 28th-31st, $100 per student, Free to ECASD students
