Volunteers are needed to serve as College Mentors for 5th grade students at local elementary schools. 30 hours of Service Learning is available! Benefits of volunteering include:

Training is required and provided for all volunteers.
Mentors are needed in area elementary schools during and afterschool. Visit our Elementary School page for schedule details. If interested in this volunteer opportunity please fill out the Mentor Application and return completed forms to Brewer Hall, Office 50 or fax to 715-836-5225.
5th Grade Campus Tour Day Mentor:
15 hours of Service Learning can be earned by participating with 5th Grade Campus Tour Days. To earn those hours, you must complete the following:
- Training (1 hour)
- Both Tour Days, April 24th and 25th, 2014 (10.5 hours)
- Helping with Tour Day projects before or after Tour Days (3.5 hours)
- A two page reflection paper
Before the event, the Center for Service Learning requires students to complete an online application to identify their project. On the Center for Service Learning website, scroll down and select the Start a Project icon. Next, complete the Student Agreement Form. The project start date is March 24th, 2014 and the project end date is May 5th, 2014. A total of 15 hours can be earned. Lissa Martinez Greer, Blugold Beginnings Program Director, serves as the project supervisor, community partner, and faculty/academic staff mentor. This is a volunteer project for a non-profit organization. To receive credit you must submit a two-page reflection paper to Lissa Martinez by May 31st, 2014.
