Biology 110 - Ecology and Evolution
Each semester the students in Biology 110 visit the Pigeon Lake Field Station for a weekend to observe, collect and study the native flora and fauna of Northern Wisconsin and learn about their ecology.

Biology 320 - Studies in Tropical Environments
This field-intensive course is offered during Winter and Summer sessions and involves extended travel to tropical environments for the study of biological diversity and the natural history of terrestrial and aquatic organisms. Special emphasis is given to human impacts on tropical ecosystems,

Biology 490 - Biological Field Studies
Biological Field Studies gives students hands-on experience applying their knowledge of biology in unique habitats and ecosystems such as deserts of the southwest, the Okefenokee Swamp, and in Fall 2007, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Other Field Courses in Biology
Conservation Biology, Field Botany, Invertebrate Zoology, Mammalogy, Ornithology and several other courses offered through the Biology Department integrate field trips as essential components of leaning and study. These outdoor experiences get students into local habitats to learn about biology first hand by seeing and applying classroom knowledge.

Courses at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory
The University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire maintains a formal affiliation agreement with the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Through this arrangement, students may take field courses in marine science at GCRL during the summer.
