Hello and welcome to the Beta Upsilon Sigma website! Thank you for your interest in this organization. We invite you to browse this website and discover more about what B.U.S. has to offer you, and how you can become a more well-rounded, business savvy individual by joining the ranks of the largest business focused organization on campus. Beta Upsilon Sigma consists of approximately 140 total members with a plethora of differing majors ranging from Public Relations to Sales, and every business related major in between. All of our members however, are linked through the common goal of an interest in building critical skills needed in order to succeed in the modern business world which include teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. We have 15 Executive Committees which include about 60 of our members, and 5 Board of Directors positions that offer an array of learning opportunities which include organizing events for members, creating fundraising events for charities around the community, and even designing our bi-weekly newsletter and website (click on the “Committees” link at the top of this page to learn more). Beta Upsilon Sigma is responsible for planning, organizing, and running the Career Conference on campus every year which has provided countless fellow BluGolds with post-graduation jobs and internships. Because of this, we have built lasting relationships with many companies in the region which has lead to an incredible and one-of-a-kind networking opportunity for those involved in Beta Upsilon Sigma. One aspect that truly sets us apart from any other organization on this campus is our dedication to helping and improving the community we all live in. We are one of the only organizations on campus that offers the opportunity to fulfill the required Service Learning hours you must have in order to graduate. Last semester alone, 35 of our members completed at least half of their required 30 hours, and B.U.S. had a total of over 1000 hours of community service combined from all our members! We have helped charities such as The Arc Eau Claire which helps students with disabilities, as well as the Children’s Museum, St. Francis Food Pantry, Adopt-a-Highway, Oakwood and Mount Washington retirement homes, Eau Claire Regional Art Center, and many more. By getting involved with Beta Upsilon Sigma and the numerous events and opportunities we have to offer, you will learn skills, and more importantly, make friends that you will truly never forget.
