Video Creation with PowerPoint

These free tools allow users to create flash videos from PowerPoint presentations. In a video form, PowerPoint presentations can be viewed and reviewed by students on a website or D2L page. The students don’t need to have Microsoft PowerPoint downloaded on their computers to view the videos. Also, in a flash video format, PowerPoint presentations take up much less space and are easier to transfer.

More information on editing videos can be found on the Video Editing page. Existing video, images and audio that may be useful in PowerPoint creation can be found in Existing Multimedia. Customized Instructional Videos can also be used to enhance presentations.

Be sure to always provide access to the original PowerPoint file for students with disabilities. The Flash version of the PowerPoint file is not accessible for students using adaptive technologies such as screen readers.

Remember that video use MUST be in compliance with Copyright, Fair Use, and Accessibility Guidelines.
