WOMEN'S TENNIS REMAINS UNBEATEN AS THEY TOP LUTHER

EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team improved their season record to 10-0 this year as they beat Luther College 7-2 today here in Eau Claire.

All six singles matches were determined in straight sets with five of the six being won by Eau Claire. Alison Hover (Sr-St. Cloud, MN/Tech) continued her great season and remained unbeaten for the year as she won in the number one flight. Laurie Alonso (Fr-Austin, MN) also stayed undefeated in singles this year with a victory in the number two flight. Also winning singles matches were Jenny Stafford (Jr-Cross Plains/Middleton), Tara Anderson (So-Litchfield/MN) and Katie Steffes (Fr-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo).

Eau Claire also won two of the three doubles matches played today.

#2-Laurie Alonso (EC) defeated Lindsay Hagen (Luther) 6-0, 6-1
#3-Jenny Stafford (EC) defeated Jacie Haroldson (Luther) 6-1, 6-2
#4-Tara Anderson (EC) defeated Tasha Allemang (Luther) 6-4, 6-2
#5-Becky Hollinger (EC) lost to Kirsten Madsen (Luther) 4-6, 1-6
#6-Katie Steffes (EC) defeated Tara Huinker (Luther) 6-3, 6-0

Doubles
#1-Hover/Alonso (EC) lost to Huinker/Blom (Luther) 4-8
#2-Stafford/Tauer (EC) won 9-7
#3-Hollinger/Cadwell won 9-7
