WOMEN FIRST, MEN THIRD AFTER FIRST DAY OF TITAN INVITATIONAL
OSHKOSH - The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team holds first place while the men's team is in third after one day of the Titan Invitational held here at Albee Hall Aquatic Center.
The women's team placed first in four of the five events held today led by Annie Gorman (Fr.-Menomonie), who took first by 11 seconds in the 500-yd freestyle. In the 200-yd IM, Kristjana Marston (Sr.-Hudson) took first while Cori Severson (Fr.-Brainerd, MN) finished first in the 50-yd freestyle. The 200-yd freestyle relay team also placed first.
On the men's side, Mike Carrol (Jr.-Green Lake) is leading the team after placing second in the 500-yd freestyle in a time of 5:15.16. Steve Fisher (Jr.-Shoreview, MN/Moundsview) also put forth a solid effort taking third in the 50-yd freestyle in a time of 22.91.
The invitational will conclude tomorrow with competition resuming at 9 a.m.
