WOMEN SWIMMING AND DIVING FALLS SHORT OF POINT

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team dropped a dual meet to UW-Stevens Point, who finished 11th in national competition in 2001, 142-101 here tonight at the McPhee Phy Ed Center Natatorium.

The loss drops the Blugold's record to 1-2 on the season.

Andrea Lashbrook (Fr-Neenah) won both diving events on the evening scoring a 200.54 in the 1-meter event and a 213.10 in the 3-meter event. Liz VonFeldt (Jr-Lancaster) took medalist honors in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.65. VonFeldt also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke. Annie Gorman (Fr-Menomonie) took first place in the 200-yard freestyle, covering the distance in 2:00.10.

The Eau Claire 200-yard freestyle relay team also took first place.

The Blugolds will travel to St. Cloud, Minnesota tomorrow to participate in the St. Cloud Invite. Competition begins at 9:00 a.m.
