SWIMMERS AND DIVERS FALL TO ST. CLOUD STATE

ST. CLOUD - The UW-Eau Claire men and women's swimming and diving teams both lost to St. Cloud State University with the men losing 150-87 and the women falling 158-84 here tonight at Halenbeck Pool.

The men were strong off the diving board sweeping both the one-meter and three-meter dives. Dan Von Feldt (Sr.-Lancaster) took first in both events. The men also got first place finishes from John Welch (Jr.-Marshfield) in the 1650-yard freestyle and Travis Fisher (Jr.-Waunakee) in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Cori Severson (Fr.-Brainerd, MN) had a good day for the women taking first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.06 seconds. Severson also took second in the 100-yd freestyle. Annie Gorman (Fr.-Menomonie) added another first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.

The Blugolds will travel to St. Paul, MN Friday to take on Macalester College in a dual meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
