WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES SIXTH AT TORI NEUBAUER INVITE
WEST SALEM - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team took sixth place among 16 teams at the Tori Neubauer Invitational 5K run held here today at the Maple Grove Country Club.
All Blugold finishers concluded the race within 44 seconds of each other with Melissa Wright (Sr.-Appleton/Kimberly) finishing first among the Blugolds in a time of 19:27.5 finishing 13th overall. Sarah Kasbian (Sr.-East Peoria, IL) and Jeanine Twomey (So.-Blaine, MN/Spring Lake Park) finished next with Kasbian finishing in 19:30.3 and Twomey finishing in 19:49.4.
Rounding out the Blugold finishers are Korah Petrasko (Fr.-Appleton/East) in 19:53.5, Nikki Johnson (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Cathedral) in 19:55.9, Heather Lipinski (Jr.-Thorp) in 20:07 and Jenny Warmke (So.-Black River Falls) in 20:11.1.
UW-La Crosse finished first overall followed by Wartburg College, Nebraska Wesleyan, Luther College and Carleton.
The Blugolds will be in action Friday when they host the UW-Stout Dual at Lake Wissota.
