WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES SECOND AT BIG DAWG INVITE

STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team had four runners in the top 11 places en route to a second place finish at the Big Dawg Invitational here today in Stevens Point. UW-Stevens Point won the three-team event with 15 points while the Blugolds finished with 47 points. UW-Whitewater took third with 81 points.

Blugold runners claimed the eighth through 11th places individually, with Korah Petrasko (Fr.-Appleton/East) heading the pack. She covered the 5k course in a time of 19:36.82 while Melissa Wright (Sr.-Appleton/Kimberly) finished less than two seconds back to claim ninth place.

Sarah Kasabian (Sr.-East Peoria, IL) took 10th place with a time of 19:48.79 while Jenny Warmke (So.-Black River Falls) ended with a time of 19:53.12 for 11th place.

Jeanine Twomey (So.-Blaine, MN/Spring Lake Park) and Heather Lipinksi (Jr.-Thorp) were the final point scorers for the Blugolds as they took 14th and 15th place respectively.

The Blugolds return to action next at the Tori Neubauer Invite in La Crosse.
