SOPPELAND NAMED WIAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire guard Janel Soppeland (Sr.-Cadott) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Soppeland led the Blugolds to a pair of conference road victories last week. In a 72-69 win at UW-Stout on Saturday, she had 14 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes of action. In a 65-61 victory at UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Soppeland totaled 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal. In the two games, she was six-for-13 on three point field goal attempts.
