BLUGOLD WOMEN HOST WISCONSIN LUTHERAN COLLEGE WEDNESDAY

The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will host Wisconsin Lutheran College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a first-round NCAA Division III tournament game.

The Blugolds are 27-1 as the automatic qualifier from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while Wisconsin Lutheran is 18-8 as the automatic qualifier from the Lake Michigan Conference.

This is Eau Claire's 13th NCAA appearance in the past 15 years. The Blugolds have only missed qualifying in 1991 and 2002 during that span.

The last time the Blugolds played a first-round game, it was also against the Lake Michigan Conference champion as they beat Lakeland, 71-43, in 2001.

Tickets for the game will go at sale at noon Monday in the Service Center of the W. R. Davies Center on campus. Reserved tickets are $7. General admission tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for students and youths.

The winner of the Eau Claire-Wisconsin Lutheran game will play a second round game Saturday against the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between LaVerne, California (17-8) and Chapman, California (16-9).
