VOLLEYBALL HONORED WITH TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD

LEXINGTON, KY – The UW-Eau Claire volleyball team has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the GamePlan™/AVCA Team Academic Award.

The award honors collegiate and high school teams that maintain at least a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.

This year, 308 high school and college teams from around the nation received the award. UW-Eau Claire, which had a cumulative team GPA of 3.31, was one of 54 NCAA Division III teams that were honored. The highest previous total for Division III was 48 recipients, set in 2003-04. The only other WIAC school that received the award this year was UW-La Crosse.

This is the ninth time UW-Eau Claire has received the award in the award’s 15-year history. The last time UW-Eau Claire was honored was for the 2003-04 season, which marked the end of an eight year streak winning the award.
