WESTBROCK EARNS SOCCER ALL-AMERICAN HONORS
EAU CLAIRE – UW-Eau Claire soccer defender Becky Westbrock (Sr.-Oakdale, MN/North St. Paul) has been named an All-American by both D3Kicks.Com and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Westbrock was named a second team All-American by D3Kicks.Com and was named to the third team by NSCAA. Westbrock is just the third Blugold in school history to earn All-American honors. Kari Blascyzk received All-American honors in 2000 and Diane Kelsch received All-American status in 1993. All three honorees received third team recognition. Westbrock is the first individual from the conference to earn All-America honors since UW-Stevens Point’s Kelly Fink secured third team status in 2002. Westbrock helped lead a Blugold defense with ranked ninth in won-lost-tied percentage (0.885), 10th in goals against average (0.381), 11th in shutout percentage (0.69) and 13th in save percentage (0.891) among all NCAA Division III schools nationally. The Blugolds also broke two WIAC single season team records including wins (23) and shutouts (18). Westbrock also added one goal and three assists for five points.
