EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – This weekend two members of the UW-Eau Claire men’s track and field team will head to Oshkosh for the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, which will be conducted May 22-24. Brian Christ (Sr.-Arcadia, Wis.) will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. The preliminaries are scheduled for 5:20 p.m. Thursday, while the final will be held on Saturday at 3:25 p.m. Christ was selected for nationals after capturing a third place finish with a provisional qualifying time of 53.84 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. His time in the event was the fourth fastest in the WIAC this season and 19th fastest in Division III. Al Oleson (Sr.-Wausau, Wis./West) is also headed to nationals and will compete in the hammer throw at 6 p.m. on Friday. Oleson’s throw of 183-10 at the WIAC Championships for a first place finish was good enough for a selection to the NCAA Championship.
