BLUGOLD SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAM FALLS TO STEVENS POINT

The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team lost in a dual meet to reigning Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion UW-Stevens Point 172-70 here tonight at McPhee Phy Ed Center Natatorium.

Mike Carroll (Jr.-Green Lake) led the Blugolds with a first place finish in the 1000-yd freestyle in a time of 10:42.39. Carroll also took home a second place finish in both the 200-yd butterfly and 500-yd freestyle.

Dan Von Feldt (Sr.-Lancaster) also had a strong showing with a first place finish in the 3-meter dive and a third place finish in the 1-meter dive. Von Feldt was also the first leg on the third place 200-yd medley relay.

Eau Claire will head to St. Cloud tomorrow to compete in the St. Cloud Invite. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
