MEN’S GOLF TIED FOR THIRD AT RYERSON FALL CLASSIC

PELLA, IA – The UW-Eau Claire men’s golf team is tied for third, just five shots out of the lead, after shooting a first round 294 at the Ryerson Fall Classic hosted by Central College (IA).

The 11-team field tackled Copper Creek Golf Course today. Indian Hills Community College (IA) leads after the first round with a score of 289. The second Indian Hills team is in second place after they shot a first round 293. The Blugolds are tied with the host Central College at 294 and in fifth place is Wartburg College (IA) with a score of 302.

The Blugolds were very balanced from top to bottom in the first round. Mason Milner (Jr.-Onalaska, WI) had the best round of the day for the Blugolds as he shot a 72 (+1), which puts him in a tie for sixth place. Ben Ziemann (Fr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) had the second best round for the Blugolds as he is tied for 11th after he shot a 73 (+2).

Mike Greer (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) is tied for 13th place after he shot a first round 74 (+3). Greer was tied for the lowest front nine score with a 34. Rob Norris (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) had the next highest score with a 75 (+4), which puts him a tie for 20th place. Ryan Brockhaus (Sr.-Mayville, WI) is tied for 24th after he shot a 76 (+5)

The final round of the Ryerson Fall Classic will take place at Bos Landen Golf Club tomorrow.
