MEN’S GOLF IN THIRD AND EIGHTH AT BOBBY KRIG INVITE

LE SEUER, MN – The UW-Eau Claire men’s golf team sits in third place at 303 strokes and eighth place at 317 after day one of the 16-team Bobby Krig Invitational, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus (MN).

St. John’s (MN) leads the pack with a +18 298 tally. Augsburg College (MN) is second at 301. UW-Stout and St. Thomas (MN) are tied for fourth with marks of 306.

Three players share a 3-over 73, best on the day at the 6,365-yard Le Seuer Country Club. A total of 84 golfers are participating.

Ben Ziemann (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) is the Blugold leader with a 74, which ties for fourth. Mike Greer (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) and Mason Milner (Jr.-Onalaska) are also in the top 10 with 75 scores, tying for 10th. Derek Bauer (Jr.-Inver Grove Heights, MN/Eagan) is the fourth golfer and is tied for 32nd with a 79.

The UW-Eau Claire II team’s top golfer is Robert Norris (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall). Norris is tied at 19th with a 77. Cole Stark (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) has a 79 to tie for 32nd. Ryan Brockhaus (Sr.-Mayville) and his 80 mark tie for 39th while Alex Kroeger (So.-Onalaska) sits tied for 46th on an 81 tally.

The two-day invite will finish up tomorrow.
