ENTRY PROCEDURE:

National entries are due by 4:00 pm (CST) on Sunday, November 14. National entries will be made online for individuals and teams at www.raceberryjam.com. Select the cross country section and click on the “NCAA” button. Teams qualifying for the National Meet may list up to 10 runners who are eligible. Individual qualifiers must also be entered online. This is NOT the meet director’s responsibility.

COACHES’ MEETING:

ENTRY PROCEDURE: Entries are due Sunday, November 14, by 4 pm CST (Note: Responsibility for entering teams and individuals rests with the individual coach, NOT the regional meet directors.)

All entries for the National Championship will be done online through the raceberryjam.com website. You will receive all entry instructions from the website, and your entry will be acknowledged by email on receipt. Please follow instructions carefully on the entry form.

FOR TEAM ENTRIES: Each qualifying team may enter 10 athletes. Athletes on a qualifying team need not have raced in the regional meet to be eligible. From this list of athletes, the athletes that are declared at the starting line are the official entrants.

FOR INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES: Enter all qualifying individuals. Only athletes that have earned qualifying spots from their respective regional meets may be entered in the national meet.

REMINDER: It is the coach’s responsibility to inform the committee immediately if for some reason an athlete declared and selected to compete in any national competition cannot compete!

FINAL DECLARATION: Student athletes must check in with the clerks at their assigned box 20 minutes prior to the start of their race.

INSPECTION OF COURSE: The course will be available on Thursday and Friday for inspection once it is free from frost. Call the Weather Conditions phone at 715/836-2642 for current updates of the course. The course will open on Saturday, November 20 for warmup when free of frost. Once again call the Weather Conditions phone at 715/836-2642.

PARKING: Team parking is located at Whitetail Golf Course. Each team will receive one parking pass. No additional passes will be issued. All vehicles with parking passes will enter through the parking pass gate. NO spectator parking allowed. There will be a shuttle bus from Colfax High School to the course for spectators. The $5.00 round trip cost covers admission to the event.

PACKET PICKUP: Packets will be available Friday, November 19 from 2:00 – 4:30 pm (CST) in the lower level of Olson. Parking passes will be distributed with the packets. Athlete’ mementos will be available at this time. Coaches with outstanding fines will not receive their packets until the fine is paid. Packets not picked up at this time will be available at the coaches’ meeting. NOTE: Athletes are not permitted in the memento or packet areas.

COACHES’ MEETING: A mandatory coaches’ meeting will take place on Friday, November 19 immediately following the banquet in McPhee. Failure to attend this meeting will result in a $100 fine.

NCAA MERCHANDISE : Merchandise will be available for purchase during packet pickup times, pre- and post-banquet and on Saturday.

HOST HOTELS: UW-Eau Claire will be hosting all championship events-packet pickup, coaches’ meeting, banquet, post-race luncheon and awards on campus.

BANQUET INFORMATION: The coaches and athletes banquet will be served Friday, November 19 at 6:00 pm (CST) in the McPhee Center. All qualifying athletes and one coach per team will be provided with banquet tickets (please note number attending on entry form). Extra banquet tickets will be available at registration for $20 each on a first come first served basis.

POST-RACE LUNCHEON: The post-race luncheon will be served in the McPhee Center in gyms A, B & C from 1:30 – 2:45 pm (CST). Each athlete and one coach per team will receive a ticket for the luncheon.

AWARDS CEREMONY : The awards ceremony will take place at the McPhee Center. NCAA awards will be presented to the top 4 teams in each race and to the top 15 in each race. Coaches All-American certificates will be presented to the top 35 finishes in each race.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS: One credential will be issued upon request prior to the championship to each competing institution’s sports information staff. This person must be an employee of the institution. FINISH LINE PROCEDURES: See enclosed information sheet on how to properly attach the assigned computer chip. Order of finish will be verified visually with Finish lynx timing. A video system will be used as backup. Computer chips will also be recorded at various points during the race.

TRANSPORTATION AND PER DIEM: Please refer to your NCAA 2004 Travel and/or Division III Cross Country Championships handbook for championship travel information. These handbooks can be found online at www.ncaa.org under publications; championship handbooks (either cross country or travel). In addition, per diem forms are available online at 222.ncaa.org and must be completed for reimbursement. Please be aware that participants whose institution is located within 500 miles of the competition site are required to travel via ground transportation.
