LARSON NAMED FIRST TEAM D3HOOPS.COM ALL-WEST REGION

EAU CLAIRE - UW-Eau Claire men's basketball guard Jason Larson (Sr.-Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin) was named to the D3Hoops.Com First Team All-West Region, it was recently announced by the "definitive internet resource for Division III basketball."

Larson averaged 22.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season. He led the Blugolds in points per game (22.1), assists (103), offensive rebounds (58) and minutes played (35.5/game) while shooting 44.8 percent from the floor (192-429), 77.3 percent (143-185) from the free throw line and 44.0 percent (70-159) from the three-point line. For the year Larson reached double-digit point totals in 26-of-27 games, scored 30-plus points six times, connected on a career-best seven three-pointers versus UW-River Falls on February 8, posted season highs of 14 rebounds and seven assists (accomplished twice) while posting five double-doubles this season in points and rebounds.

Larson broke the 1,000-point plateau on December 11 versus UW-Superior and finished his Blugold career with 1,434 points, ranking him 10th on the school's all-time scoring list. His 597 points tie Larson for seventh on the school's single-season scoring list while ranking 8th in single-season free throws made with 143.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, who were contacted three different times as the season wound down to make their players eligible. The ballot was then distributed to regional SIDs, who voted for ten players, from 10 points to 1 point.
