UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ADMITTED FREE FOR WIAC PLAYOFF GAMES

All UW system students will be admitted free for all Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference soccer and volleyball games hosted by UW-Eau Claire, Blugold Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon has announced.

Any UW system student will only need to show a valid university ID to be admitted to any contests in the McPhee Phy Ed Center for volleyball or the Bollinger Fields for soccer. This will include the quarterfinal games on Tuesday, October 31 and if the Blugolds win, the Final Four Tournament on Friday-Saturday, November 3-4.

Kilgallon explained that he hopes UWEC students will take advantage of the offer for the WIAC tournament and get out to support their Blugold teams, both of which are seeded No. 1 in the eight-team playoffs.

The Blugold soccer team will host UW-Platteville at 2 p.m. Tuesday on the Bollinger Fields and the volleyball team will host UW-Stout at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the McPhee Phy Ed Center.

If the Blugolds win soccer Tuesday, the four-team soccer championship would have semifinal games at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday and the title game at 1 p.m. Saturday. If the Blugolds win volleyball Tuesday, the four-team volleyball championship would have semifinal games at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Friday with the third-place game at 4:30 p.m. and the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday.
