BLUGOLD OFFICIALS ANNOUNCE TICKET AVAILABILITY

UW-Eau Claire athletic officials have announced no major changes in athletic ticket prices and policies for the 2006-07 seasons.

Single game general admission tickets will continue to be priced at $6 for adults, $5 for UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff, $4 for seniors and $3 for youths and visiting students. UWEC students will be admitted free of charge with a validated student ID.

Basketball doubleheaders will continue to be priced at $8 for adults, $7 for UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff, $6 for seniors and $5 for youths and visiting students. A patron can pay the single game admission price if seats are available and they come for the second game only but they will not be admitted into Zorn Arena until the first game is complete. Patrons attending the first game must pay the doubleheader price. The men are scheduled to play the first game of doubleheaders this year and the women the second game.

Tournaments will not be considered doubleheaders so single game prices will be in effect for each day of the women's Thanksgiving Showcase and the men's Holiday Classic tournaments. Single game prices will also be in effect for each day of the women's volleyball Labor Day Classic.

In an effort to encourage attendance at mid-week basketball and hockey games, Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon indicated that a second ticket of equal or lesser value can be purchased for half-price.

All regular season contests staged in the McPhee Phy Ed Center (volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling and swimming) will involve a buy one, get one free deal with the free ticket being of equal or lesser value.

The Blugolds will again offer two types of All Sports passes for adults. One will be a general admission pass for all nine admission sports and the other, an All Sports Gold pass, will include reserved seat tickets in men's and women's basketball and a reserved section ticket in men's hockey. The general admission All Sports pass for adults will be $100 and for youths $40. The All Sports Gold pass will be $120.

Football seating will continue to involve general admission tickets only and no reserved seating. The season pass for five football games will be $15 with seating on a first come, first served basis.

The men's and women's basketball season passes are priced at $40 each and the men's hockey at $25. Patrons who had season tickets last year have until October 1 to renew their tickets and retain the same seats they had last year.

In an effort to get families and young professionals to attend Blugold events together, the Blugolds are also offering a general admission All Sports 4-Pak in which four of the $100 All Sports passes will be sold on one order for $250.

The price for a book of 10 undated general admission tickets will remain at $40. The tickets can be used for any regular season event except basketball doubleheaders which will require two book tickets.

Admission will continue to be charged for the fall sports of football and volleyball and all winter sports which include basketball, hockey, wrestling, swimming and gymnastics. There are over 70 scheduled regular season home events in the nine admission sports during 2006-07. The doors will open one hour prior to game time in all sports except football which will open and hour and half prior to game time.

Any post-season contests, run by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) or the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), will require special ticketing and Blugold passes will not be honored.

Tickets are available at the Service Center counter on the east end of Davies Center. During the academic year, the new hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Those hours have changed in the last week from the hours published in this year's ticket brochure and pocket schedules. From now until August 30, the Service Center will only be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Phone orders are accepted and tickets can be charged to Visa or MasterCard accounts but a phone handling fee is added. The Service Center phone is (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC.
