THREE NAMED WIAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

EAU CLAIRE – UW-Eau Claire women’s track thrower Paula Crossfield (Sr.-Madison/East), women’s diver Sarah Myers (Jr.-Eau Claire/North) and men’s swimmer Nick Peterson (Sr.-Lake Elmo, MN/North St. Paul) have all been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Crossfield finished second in the 20-pound weight throw and set a school record in the process as the Blugolds competed at the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout on Feb. 3. She reached a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying toss of 50-6 3/4 to break the school record of 50-0 set on March 7, 1997 by Chris Konyn.

Myers won the one-meter and three-meter diving events as the Blugolds defeated UW-Oshkosh, 173-64, in dual meet competition on Feb. 3. She won the meter with a score of 214.45 and the three-meter with a mark of 205.10.

Peterson won two individual events as UW-Eau Claire defeated UW-Oshkosh, 166-77, in a dual meet on Feb. 3. He claimed the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.93 and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:33.38. His time in the 400-yard individual medley is the fastest on the team this season.
