Assistant Football Coach - Dave Decker
Dave Decker enters his fifth season
as an assistant coach for the Blugolds. Decker will work
on the defensive side of the ball coaching outside linebackers.
Prior to arriving at Eau Claire
Decker was the defensive coordinator at Menomonie High
School. At Menomonie, Decker was the defensive coordinator
of two state championship teams in 1999 and 2002 in addition
to two state semi-finalists teams in 2000 and 2001. Decker
directed a defense that allowed no more than 14 points
in a single game in 2002 as the Indians completed their
season with a perfect 14-0 record. Decker was the defensive
coordinator for the North squad at the 2001 Shrine Bowl
game. The North won 19-0 and posted the first shutout
of the South team in the history of the Shrine Bowl.
In 1994 Decker was a student assistant
coach at UW-River Falls where he coached tight ends. Decker
graduated from UW-River Falls in December 1995 with a
degree in physical education and a minor in coaching.
Currently teaching K-12 physical
education in Menomonie, Decker resides in Eau Claire with
wife Kari, daughter Mackenzie and son Michael.
