SCHAEUBLE RECEIVES CONFERENCE HONORS
MADISON, Wis. - UW-Eau Claire football player Mitch Schaeuble (Sr.-Wrightstown, WI) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week for offense, conference spokesman Matt Stanek has announced. Last weekend, Schaeuble handled both quarterback and punting duties in the 21-20 victory at UW-Oshkosh. As quarterback for the first time in his college career, Schaeuble threw for 348 yards and completed 17 of 27 passes. There have only been six other players in Blugold Football history that have thrown for 335 or more yards in a game, with the last time being in 2004. Schaeuble’s 348-yard passing performance is also the most in the conference this year. Schaeuble threw two touchdown passes, one of which came on a 74-yard strike and the other on a 55-yard strike. Schaeuble also had almost half of the Blugolds’ rushing yards, with 18 on six carries. He also punted five times, totaling 179 yards, a 35.8-yard per punt average, had one inside the 20 and a long of 42. - KM -
