Assistant Football Coach - Cary Osborn

Cary Osborn

Cary Osborn enters his eighth season on the Blugold coaching staff, his fourth as the special teams coordinator and eighth as the running backs coach. Under Osborn four school and four conference records have been set by Blugold running backs.

Osborn was a standout running back with the Blugolds during the Jim Lind era between 1987-90. Osborn started 40-straight games commencing with his first game as a true freshman in 1987. He was one of four captains in 1990 and was named the team's MVP following that season. He ranks third all-time in the Blugold career rushing list with 3,262 yards and in career rushing attempts with 729. His best season statistically was 1989 when he ran for 940 yards. He owns the sixth best single-game effort with 224 yards against UW-Oshkosh.

Osborn is also fourth on the all-time pass receiving list with 122 receptions. He accumulated 1,319 yards receiving during his career. He ranks second on the all-time scoring list with 330 points and is one of just four Blugolds to score at least 100 points in a season. Osborn was a first team All-Conference selection in 1989 and 1990 in addition to earning second team honors in 1987 and 1988. Osborn was also a member of the 1987-88 Blugold basketball team.

Graduating from UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in finance, Osborn currently works in real estate development and property management as the CEO at Augusta Housing. Osborn has two sons, Cody (b. 12/26/98) and Cade (b. 12/1/00).
