TIERI, SIKORA, SCHAEUBLE RECEIVE ALL-REGION RECOGNITION
STERLING, Va. - Linfield quarterback Brett Elliott and St. John's defensive end Damien Dumonceaux lead the D3football.com 2005 All-West Region team. Elliott was named the West Region Offensive Player of the Year, while Dumonceaux was named West Region Defensive Player of the Year. UW-Whitewater coach Bob Berezowitz, who led his Warhawks to the first perfect season by a WIAC team since 2000, took a team from the No. 21 spot in the preseason poll to the national semifinals, which UW-Whitewater hosts Saturday against Wesley. Elliott, a senior, completed 69.9% of his passes (277 of 396) for 4,019 yards and 49 touchdowns. He was intercepted just nine times in 11 games. Dumonceaux, also a senior, was credited with 78 tackles (48 solo), 17½ tackles for loss and nine sacks for a total of 66 yards of lost yardage. The teams, selected in balloting by West Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 147 nominations by Division III member schools. It is the first time this team has been chosen by D3football.com. A total of 75 players were chosen. D3football.com 2005 All-West Region Team Courtesy D3football.com - Pat Coleman
