ROGNEY NAMED WIAC FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire outside linebacker Dan Rogney (Jr.-Auburndale) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Rogney helped UW-Eau Claire limit UW-Stout to 265 yards of total offense in a 17-9 homecoming victory on October 15. He made the biggest play of the game in the third quarter, intercepting a pass and returning it 49 yards to the Blue Devil 22-yard line. UW-Eau Claire scored a touchdown on the very next play for a 14-3 advantage. Rogney also had a quarterback sack in the second quarter and finished the game with seven tackles, including four solo efforts.
