November 7, 2005 - November 13, 2005


Offense: Chris Hull, WR, So., Blaine, MN/Spring Lake Park

Hull had a career day in helping the Blugolds end the season with a winning record and sole possession of second place in the WIAC with a 30-14 victory over UW-Platteville. Hull led the Blugolds with 10 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. Hull accounted for nearly half of the Blugolds' 241 passing yards on the day. The decisive score of the game came at 10:26 remaining in the fourth quarter when Hull caught a 10-yard pass from Jesse Krzyzanowski to give the Blugolds a 27-14 lead.


Defense: Brent Tieri, S., Sr., Rockford, MN

Tieri helped limit the UW-Platteville rushing attack to 48 yards on 26 carries, an average of 1.8 yards per carry, in a 30-14 victory over the Pioneers. Tieri led the Blugolds with 11 total tackles for the day, including a team-best six solo tackles. In his final football game Tieri helped lead the Blugolds end the season with a winning record and sole possession of second place in the WIAC.


Special Teams: Derek Sikora, DB, Sr.,Neillsville, WI

Sikora had his best day of the season returning punts in helping the Blugolds to a 30-14 victory in the season's final game against UW-Platteville. Entering the game with 165 punt return yards on the season, Sikora gained 104 yards in five attempts including a season-best 41 and 39 yard returns. The 39-yard return would eventually lead to a Blugold field goal. In his final football game Sikora helped lead the Blugolds end the season with a winning record and sole possession of second place in the WIAC.


October 31, 2005 - November 6, 2005


Offense: Chris Hull, WR, So., Blaine, MN/Spring Lake Park

Hull was a big factor in the Blugold passing game in a 24-18 overtime loss at UW-Oshkosh. Hull scored the only touchdown of the first half off a 25 yard pass from Jesse Krzyzanowski to give the Blugolds a 9-0 lead. For the day Hull caught five passes for 91 yards-one yard more than the Oshkosh passing game totaled for the entire game.


Defense: Brent Tieri, S., Sr., Rockford, MN

Tieri helped the Blugold defense to 90 yards of passing offense in a 24-18 defeat at UW-Oshkosh. The Titan passing game completed eight of 18 passes on the day with four of those receptions being caught by running back Andy Moriarity. Tieri totaled 10 tackles on the day. The total of five solo and five assisted tackles was good for second on the team.


Special Teams: Derek Sikora, DB, Sr.,Neillsville, WI

Sikora used the return game help keep the Blugolds in the game before falling 24-18 in overtime at UW-Oshkosh. After the Titans earned their first lead of the game at 15-12 Sikora took the ensuing kick off 50 yards to set the Blugolds up with excellent field possession. Sikora ended the day with 74 yards on two kick off returns and two punt returns for 12 yards.


October 24, 2005 - October 30, 2005


Offense: Joe Gast, TB, Sr., Waconia, MN

Despite a slow offensive first half by the Blugolds, Gast finished the day with a 137 yards rushing and one touchdown in the Blugolds 17-3 victory over UW - Stevens Point. Midway through the 3rd quarter, Gast was set up by a pick from teammate Derek Sikora. On the drive Gast rushed for 46 yards, including the one yard touchdown run.


Defense: Brent Tieri, S., Sr., Rockford, MN

Tieri played a big part in the Blugolds defensive attack on Saturday with two interceptions off Pointers quarterback Brett Borchart. Tieri's first interception came on the first drive of the game, returning it 21 yards to the Pointer's 47 yard line. The second came at the end of the 1st quarter, and set up the first Blugold score of the game. Tieri's interceptions were the first of five to be picked by the Blugolds in the game. The safety finished with six solo tackles, seven total on the day.


Special Teams: Sam Cummings, OLB, So., Rochester, MN/John Marshall

With a little over two minutes remaining in the 1st quarter, the Pointer's looked to be the first to score. They were stopped when Cummings blocked a 40 yard field goal attempt. The effort on special teams helped the Blugolds keep the Pointers scoreless until late in the 4th quarter, and allowed the Blugolds to pick up their 3rd straight win.


October 17, 2005 - October 23, 2005


Offense: Joe Gast, TB, Sr., Waconia, MN

The four year starter rushed for 154 yards, and scored two touchdowns in the double overtime victory over #11 ranked UW - La Crosse on Saturday. Gast's first touchdown came right before half-time with a 2 yard run, but his biggest play of the game came in the second OT, scoring a touchdown that would seal the victory for the Blugolds.


Defense: Ryan Schulz, S, Jr., Maple Grove, MN

Schulz led the Blugolds defensive attack with 15 total tackles on the day. The junior safety did his best to stop Corey Geldernick and the run, bringing down the running back 10 times in the 27-20 double overtime victory, and giving the Blugolds their 2nd straight win at home.


Special Teams: Derek Sikora, CB, Sr.-Neillsville, WI

Sikora had a strong 1st half against the Eagles. A 27 yard kickoff return started the game, and then followed with a 12 yard kickoff return following a La Crosse touchdown. Late in the 2nd quarter, Sikora set up Joe Gast for the Blugolds first touchdown and lead of the game with a 22 yard punt return.


October 10, 2005 - October 16, 2005


Offense: Joe Gast, TB, Sr., Waconia, MN

Gast dominated the running game in Saturday's 17-9 homecoming victory over I-94 rival UW-Stout. Gast ran for 80 yards on the day, scoring both Blugold touchdowns. The first touchdown came midway through the 1st quarter on a 6 yard run. The second touchdown, near the end of the 3rd quarter was a 22 yard run, set up by an intercept from Blugold teammate Dan Rogney. The touchdown was Gast's longest run of the day.


Defense: Dan Rogney, OLB, Jr., Auburndale, WI

The Blue Devil's quarterback had one man to fear in Saturday's game. Rogney played solid defense, sacking the QB late in the 2nd quarter for a loss of nine yards, and then making the biggest play of the game, a 49 yard pick late in the 3rd quarter. The intercept set up Joe Gast for a 22 yard touchdown, bringing the Blugold's lead to 14-3. Rogney finished with four solo tackles, seven total on the day.


Special Teams: Mitch Schaeuble, P, So., Wrightstown, WI

Schaeuble continues to play a strong part in the Blugolds special teams unit. In Saturday's victory, the Schaeuble had a game long 49 yard punt, brought one inside the 20, and scored the remaining points of the game, a 22 yard field goal with just over a minute left to play in the game.


October 3, 2005 - October 9, 2005


Offense: Jesse Krzyzanowski, Quarterback, Sr., Thorp, WI

Krzyzanowski sparked the Blugolds offense on its first drive with a five yard touchdown pass to Tony Hull. On the Blugolds next drive, Kryzanowski connected with Hull again, this time for a seven yard touchdown pass. The Blugolds QB completed 21 of 28 passes and throw for 183 yards on the day in the victory over River Falls.


Defense: Brad Alexejun, Linebacker, Jr., Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon

Alexejun preformed a strong defensive game with nine total tackles on the day, four solo and five assisted.


Special Teams: Derek Sikora, Sr., Punt/Kick Returner, Neillsville, WI

Sikora returned two punts for 23 yards and one kick return for 12 yards.


September 26, 2005 - October 2, 2005


Offense: Tony Hull, So., Blain, MN/Spring Lake Park

Hull led the Blugold offense on Saturday with 97 yards receiving and scored the only Blugold touchdown of the day.


Defense: Johnny Klicka, Sr., Wild Rose, WI

Klicka contributed four solo tackles, bringing down seven total on the day. Klicka also interrupted Whitewater's offense early in the 2nd quarter with an interception.


Special Teams: Mitch Schaeuble, Punter, So., Wrightstown, WI

For the second week in a row Schaeuble is the Blugolds Special Teams Athlete of the Week. Schaeuble had a game long punt of 56 yards, bringing 4 of 9 punts on the day inside the 20 yard line.


September 19, 2005 - September 25, 2005


Defense: Brent Tieri, Safety, Sr., Rockford,MN

Tieri lead the Blugold defense with 5 solo tackles, 7 total on the day in the 35-10 loss versus the NAIA's #2 ranked St. Francis Cougars.


Special Teams: Mitch Schaeuble, Punter, So., Wrightstown, WI

Schaueble brought in two Blugold punts inside the 20 including a game long 53 yard punt, averaging 44.7 yards on the day versus the NAIA second-ranked University of St. Francis.


September 5, 2005 - September 11, 2005


Offense: Jesse Krzyzanowski, Quarterback, Sr., Thorp, WI

Krzyzanowski broke a 41-year old school record for touchdown passes in a game as the Blugolds defeated Illinois Wesleyan 46-0. Krzyznanowski threw five touchdown passes in the first half, three in the first quarter and two in the second as the Blugolds took a 32-0 half time lead. Krzyzanowski would break the school record with a touchdown pass in the third quarter to extend the lead to 39-0 before leaving the game. For the game Krzyzanowski threw touchdown passes of 8, 5, 13, 6, 38 and 1 yard in the victory. The former school record of 5 touchdowns in a game was set by Jim Van Gorden versus UW-Whitewater in 1964.


Defense: Johnny Klicka, Inside Linebacker, Sr., Wild Rose, WI

Klicka spearheaded a defense that posted its first shutout since 2002 in a 46-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. Klicka had three tackles on the game as the Blugolds held the Titans to 111 yards total offense on 60 plays for an average of 1.9 yards per offensive play. The Blugold defense forced four sacks and two interceptions while limiting the Titan running attack to 24 yards on 27 carries.


Special Teams: Tony Hull, Wide Receiver, So., Blaine, Minnesota/Spring Lake Park

Hull gave the Blugold punt return team a shot in the arm netting 66 yards on three attempts in a 46-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. Hull took the first Titan punt of the day and returned it 45 yards to set up the Blugolds' second touchdown drive of the day. Hull would later return punts of 10 and 11 yards, respectively.


August 27, 2005 - September 4, 2005


Offense: Tony Hull, Wide Receiver, So., Blaine, Minnesota/Spring Lake Park

Tony Hull picked up right were he left off in 2004 hauling in six receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown in a 35-28 defeat to 10th-ranked St. John's (MN). Down 14-0, a well-covered Hull came back to an underthrown pass timing his jump to extend up and over the defensive back and complete the play for a 66-yard touchdown pass to cut the Johnnie lead to 14-7. Hull accounted for 60 percent of the Blugold offense of the night producing it's longest play from scrimmage.


Defense: Sam Cummings, Outside Linebacker, So., Rochester, MN/John Marshall

Cummings totaled nine tackles, all solo, in a 35-28 defeat to 10th-ranked St. John's (MN). Cummings also led the team with two tackles for loss. Cummings was all over the field on the evening, at one point blocking a pass which was caught by a Johnnie receiver and then making the tackle on the play.


Special Teams: Chris Hull, Wide Receiver, So., Blaine, Minnesota/Spring Lake Park

Hull was instrumental in bringing the Blugolds back into the Clear Water Bowl against St. John's (MN). Down 35-7 the Blugolds blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown to cut the score to 35-14. Forcing the Johnnies to punt on their next possession Chris Hull rushed up the middle to block a punt recovered by cousin Tony who returned the block for a touchdown to narrow the gap to 35-21. On the next St. John's punt the Johnnies were forced to punt once again and it was Chris Hull one more time coming up the middle to block another punt which was recovered by the Blugolds and returned to the Johnnies 12 yard line setting up a Blugold touchdown drive.
