SENIORS TO PLAY FINAL HOME GAME THIS WEEKEND
The seniors on the UW-Eau Claire football team will be playing their final home game this weekend against UW-Stevens Point at Carson Park.
This group of seniors is the only the second group in school history to win six or more games in three consecutive seasons. With a victory over Stevens Point and a UW-La Crosse loss to UW-Stout, this group will be part of back-to-back conference championships. A victory for the Blugolds this weekend would also extend their home winning streak to 11 games.
This group of seniors is led by four-year starters Mike Bestul (Chippewa Falls/Chi-Hi), Brad Gawronski (Reedsburb/Weeb), and Nick Goeser (Scandinavia/Iola-Scandinavia).
Three-year starters are Dan Larson (Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville), Brian McIntyre (Minneapolis/MN/Woodbury), Justin Miller (Woodbury/MN), and Aaron Wolf (Green Bay/Notre Dame).
Two-year starters are Nick Draeger (Waterloo), Jason Foemmel (Marshfield), Andy Jepsen (Centuria/Unity), P.J. Madson (Green Bay/Notre Dame), and Brad Newton (Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville). Luke Kedrowski (Colby) is starting for the first time this year.
Other seniors playing in their last home game are Perry Cloud (Red Bluff, CA/San Jose State), Mike Eubanks (Cedarburg), Travis Mast (Platteville), Brian Peterson (Curtiss/Owen-Withee), and Ryan Riedl (Oregon).
